Toyota Prius is a revolutionary green motor vehicle that paved the way for environmentalism to be a priority in the automotive industry. In 1994, Toyota executive Takeshi Uchiyamada was given the assignment of developing a car that is not only superior but also environmentally friendly by nature. What result from the two objectives was an ingenious engineering of a hybrid vehicle which was preempted on the Japanese market but it only received moderate success due to its limited battery length. The solution the discovered in order to keep the battery pack between 60% and 40% charged, which led to the improved popularity of the Prius was the modification of its components. The name Prius stands for the Greek term, to go before which was chosen by the Toyota Company because they said it was going to be the beginning of a new breed of cars—they were right.
